Transformation Through Process Work in Body Therapy
As a body therapist and former dancer, I have experienced firsthand—and in my clients—the profound wisdom our bodies hold. This belief is central to Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, which works with biodynamic forces, the inherited energies that drive and sustain the aliveness of our bodies. These forces aren't abstract ideas but tangible energies that organise the natural movements of our cells, tissues, and fluids while supporting health and healing.
When these forces flow freely, they maintain balance and resolve areas of stagnation or tension. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy supports this flow by listening to the body's innate intelligence rather than forcing change or "fixing."
Our sensations and tensions carry meaning—they have a voice. Yet, many of us overlook these subtleties, disconnected from the very body that sustains us. We reconnect with our body's organisational forces by tuning into these messages through process work, creating space for healing and self-awareness. This approach fosters alignment with our deeper wisdom, offering a transformative pathway to balance, insight, and connection. Process work is more than addressing physical discomfort; it's a journey of self-discovery, balance, and connection that opens the door to lasting transformation.
What Might a Session Look Like?
Taking a break from the constant activity of the mind is essential but not always easy. During a session, I'll gently guide you into settling into your body—a process called centering. This might involve conscious breathing, grounding techniques, or calming imagery to help you relax and connect to the present moment.
Centering nurtures presence and brings attention to the subtle sensations within your body. As your awareness grows, you may experience profound shifts as your mind and body begin to communicate more harmoniously.
After centring, we'll explore any bodily sensations that may have emerged in the moment. From there, we'll move to the massage table to continue with body therapy, incorporating techniques from Shiatsu and/or Craniosacral Therapy.
A Collaborative Journey
In process work, you are the expert in your own experience, and I am here to guide and support you. Together, we'll explore what your body is expressing—whether it's recurring pain, a sense of numbness, or an unexplained heaviness. You'll be in a safe and supportive environment, free to explore at your own pace.
Rather than offering diagnoses or prescribing solutions, I help you connect with your inner wisdom. When given the space to listen truly, the answers you need often emerge naturally.
The Power of Awareness
What makes process work unique is its focus on awareness. Rather than rushing to change or solve anything, we take time to slow down, notice, and allow. What is your body trying to tell you? How do you feel at this moment? By observing without judgment, we begin to uncover layers of meaning that may have been hidden.
For instance, you might find that tension in your chest is linked to an unresolved emotion or memory. As we gently explore it, you may experience a sense of relief or clarity that was previously out of reach.
